I am a photographic artist and commercial photographer based in Dublin, Ireland.

My personal work explores interests in; History, Memory, Chance, The Found Object and The Ruin. It is more concerned with understanding than with showing; with making pictures about something rather than of something.

I make pictures “…to honour what is greater than we are…in return we are given something perfect - a sense of inclusion.” Robert Adams

Technically, my influences as German; conceptually and aesthetically, they lie with the pictorial and poetic American traditions.

"An appreciation of the transience of things and the concern to rescue them for eternity is one of the strongest impulses in allegory." Walter Benjamin

What Walter Benjamin wrote about allegory is, I believe, also true of photography.

Commercial Work: I work in the areas of fine art documentation for artists, museums and galleries, portraiture, interiors, food and unit stills photography for film and television. I offer a consultancy and documentation service for fine-art archival digitisation projects for museums, galleries and other art collections. I can advise on file storage, legacy issues, hardware, software, etc.
